A live event in NYC at

The National Arts and Television Sciences

I was honored to collaborate in a recent event in New York City at the National Academy of Arts and Sciences. Being a member and award recipient is truly an honor. With the release of my new book…

Beneath The Makeup-12 lessons to Empower and Inspire You

…we came up with a great presentation for the members to enjoy.

Since it’s September and it’s back to school time we called our event Beauty Basics 101. I discussed things like basic skin care fundamentals, the essential makeup brushes, and of course the 15-minute makeup that I outline in my book. For me beauty should be made easy. The idea of women having to use a lot of products or steps, when it comes to their skin and beauty regimen, simply overwhelms women.

I mean just the word “Regimen” right? I remember the days of selling retail when you showed skincare and it was at least 6-7 products twice a day. Then makeup also became about flawlessness and hiding or camouflaging imperfections. Those products were 5-6 to start and that was just the skin! I’m not surprised many women slap on SPF and lipstick and go on about their day.

However, at our event I met and worked with working ladies who have busy careers, partners and families and they DO want to look good throughout the day. They just wanted to see how it could be simplified. That is where I came in with my knowledge and expertise.

Working in television has made me a great makeup artist but also a very fast one because on Live TV there really isn’t a lot of time. I have taken my experience and crafted techniques that work for the workingwoman and can show her how to maximize her look in a minimal time. These ladies looked great! They were also very happy to ask me specific skincare questions and about products. They also got to see how to use makeup brushes and beauty products. Of course, I use lots of different brands but I don’t believe makeup needs to be expensive.

My book details some brands I like but soon I will be developing my own line and if you would like to stay posted on that follow me on Instagram or sign up for my newsletter. We all want to look great with makeup that lasts all day and we can. Let me show you how to achieve your personal best with my Beauty Brilliance Session!
